Game Overview

Book of Shadows, released by Nolimit City in 2020, invites players into a dark and atmospheric horror setting, full of creepy visuals and occult symbols. This slot stands out with a unique system that lets you change how many active rows are in play – anywhere from 3 to 5 – which increases your paylines from 10 up to 20.

This gives you the flexibility to shape your own gameplay and choose your ideal volatility. The slot uses a 5-reel layout, and by expanding the rows, you can boost your chances for better winning combinations.

The RTP is based on the number of rows you activate: it’s 96.01% for 3 rows, 96.07% for 4 rows, and 96.19% for 5 rows. Book of Shadows is known for its very high volatility, perfect for players who love the thrill of chasing big wins.

Symbols feature classic playing cards (10, J, Q, K, A) as well as theme-driven icons like a flask with an eye, a skull, a butterfly, a cat, and a mysterious woman. The mysterious woman is the most valuable symbol, yielding the biggest rewards for matching combinations.

The Book of Shadows symbol acts as both Wild and Scatter, substituting for all other symbols and unlocking Free Spins when three or more show up on the reels. A key part of the gameplay is the Shadow Rows mechanic, where you can pay to unlock more rows, boosting both your paylines and your winning potential.

The Lucky Locks feature lets you lock certain reels after a spin for an adjusted wager, potentially upping your chances of landing the Free Spins round. Three or more Book of Shadows symbols start the Free Spins round, awarding 10 free spins.

Before this mode begins, a special expanding symbol is randomly chosen. This symbol may grow to fill whole reels, creating big win opportunities.

There’s also a chance to gamble your winnings to try and double them, or buy straight into the Free Spins using the Nolimit Bonus feature, though this may not be available in all regions. With a max win of up to 30,338 times your stake, Book of Shadows brings Irish players a thrilling, flexible, and immersive slot experience, perfect for those who enjoy dark, high-stakes games.
